The Climb to Success

Hi, I'm Emily. The video shows how I climbed to physical success. The principles learned along the way have since brought financial, social, and emotional success. They will do the same and more for you. The principles are listed below with the intent of guiding you in your climb to success. Feel free to message me comments or questions via the thread at the bottom of this page. I will personally respond. Thank you.

Success
What is success to you? A great way to answer this is to imagine a successful you 5 years from now, and to answer the following questions:

  1. Where are you?
  2. What do you see?
  3. Who are you with?
Why is what you see important to you? This exercise should help you truly understand your definition of success. If you rushed through it, slow down and read the questions again. Now that you have framed your future success, how do you get there?

Effort
So how hard will it truly be to make your vision a reality? If you are looking for an article to tell you how easy it will be, then stop reading. Run another search, and choose from many articles that will give you the easy way out. Just remember, you get out what you put in. However, if you are up for the challenge, take a moment to think about how hard it will be to reach it. This is a very important exercise, so please stop and think. How hard will it be? Here is the true answer. Twice as hard as you thought. Nope, that isn't it. Three times harder? Four? Five times? No, it will be TEN TIMES harder than you think. TEN. Again, if you want the easy way out, then, by all means, stop reading. If you are still reading, congratulations! You are on your way! Why? When you can be fully prepared for the "10X" effort it will take, nothing can stop you. You will not break when others are because you will be mentally prepared.  Continuing to get past obstacles will be much easier. While everyone is quitting because they weren't prepared for the tough journey ahead, you will be still be racing full steam ahead.  I adopted this philosophy from to the book - 10X Rule by author Grant Cardone. Please confirm every word of by reading the book or listening (my recommendation) to the audio book.

I hope this puts into perspective the amount of effort it will take to see success.  Many are looking for the magic elixir that will make their dreams come true. I'm sorry, but it does not exist. In order to get something out, you must put something in. It will take what Grant Cardone calls "massive action" (massive amounts of action) to achieve success.  Many just do not want to accept this, but it is 100% true. They want to work "smarter not harder." In actuality, it takes smarter AND harder. It is going to take a lot of effort. Britney Spears has a song called "Work" that sums it all up:

"You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti?
You want a Maserati? You better work, bitch.
You want a Lamborghini? Sippin' martinis?
Look hot in a bikini? You better work, bitch.
..Now get to work, bitch."

So how is all this effort supposed to be enjoyable?

Energy
Fatigue. Many get there in the climb to success, and it can lead to quitting. You need energy to fight fatigue. Consistent energy. Please do not fall into the trap of opting for the quick burst of energy.  The problem is that quick bursts of energy come with quicker crashes. Stimulants that provide these quick bursts eventually lose their luster. Over time, a dependency is created just to get through each the day. It is no longer about being energetic. It becomes about not feeling like crap. These stimulants will not provide consistent energy for the  "10X" effort needed to success. You need an energy that is with you from the time you wake up till the time you go to bed. You need an energy that will be with you tomorrow, next week, all month, all year, and beyond so you are always up for life's challenges. The key is consistent energy. This consistent energy is called health.

Health
Health means better and adequate sleep. Health is a nutritious diet. Health is a positive state of mind. Health is confidence. Health is feeling and looking your best. Health is the embodiment of what makes you feel good and sets the foundation for your climb to success. To be healthy, you must develop healthy habits. If you have already developed them, big kudos to you! You are already ahead of the game. If you have unhealthy habits, you must break them, right? Well, you can't. Charles Duhigg, author of The Power of Habit, researched to find that we never break habits. We can only retrain ourselves to form new habits to replace the old based on certain triggers or cues. For example, just before you go to bed each evening, you may find yourself staring into the pantry looking for a quick snack.   The cue could be the time of evening and being in your home.  The routine would be rummaging through the pantry looking for a satisfying treat. The power of habit is so strong that no matter if you tell yourself that you won't do it tomorrow, most likely you will find yourself enjoying a treat from the pantry at the same time tomorrow evening. So what is the fix? You must train yourself to form new habits when the cue is triggered. For example, to get their kids to stop sucking their thumbs, some moms have been known to sprinkle a little pepper on it. The child will have to find a new routine when triggered with the itch to suck her thumb.  For someone that picks at their cuticle when she is nervous, bandaging the cuticle eliminates the routine of being able to pick at it. In short, you must eliminate the possibility of executing the old routine which forces you to execute new ones till they become habit. In terms of the climb to success, the best way I have found to stop energy-depleting unhealthy habits and replacing them with healthy ones is juicing.

Juicing
Juicing is one of the most important habits I formed in life. It allowed me to increase my energy for the effort to success. The most important part of being physically healthy is diet. You are what you eat.   If you eat junk, much of your output will be junk.  If you consume good things, many of your results will be just that. It is such a simple concept, but developing the willpower to execute it is tough for many.  Juicing has been the only thing I have found that allows me to put the very best in my body while developing willpower.  On a juice cleanse, I create an intangible barrier to junk.  It just isn't an option as I have committed to only juice. After several days of it, I start executing new routines to satisfy the various cues and triggers that would normally lead to fulfilling unhealthy habits. Staring in the pantry is futile and I must find something more productive to do. The usual culprits of sugar, salt, alcohol, etc. are no longer my go-to.  My body is flooded with nutrients while junk is flushed from my system. I feel good which gives me a positive outlook on life. Before I couldn't, but now I can. I was always at a disadvantage, but now things seem easier.  I roar with confidence and hold my future in my own hands. The climb to success is started.

How often do you do a juice cleanse?

Hi Rae. I like to do a juice cleanse once a month. I also incorporate juice into my daily routine and love to have Super Squeezed juice for snacks, or cashew milk for dinner. Emily
